The Recruitment Co. is urgently recruiting for an experienced Buyer to join our clients well established growing team working within the automotive industry based in Llanelli.Contract: PermanentSalary: £40,000Shifts: Mon-Fri Days 37 hoursProcurement of materials to support the production plants and new project introduction requirements along with completion of general administrative tasks as required within the Purchase function. Supporting lead buyer in strategy execution while coordinatingwith corporate purchase. The role may involve support of all plants within the UK and coordination with corporate purchase.Key Tasks/ Responsibilities:

• Ensuring materials are purchased at the most cost effective price and most cost effective way
• Working together with other departments within business ensuring purchase process is followed.
• Maintenance and contribution toward the approved suppliers list.
• Support project teams where new projects are being introduced ensuring spares are secured at the lowest total cost and are in line with project timing
• Monitoring of cost throughout projects identifying and tracking cost drivers
• Support Cost down projects and purchase requirements for all UK sites including working in cross functional teams if required
• Work within project teams developing and adhering to project timing requirements.
• Ensure compliance to Purchasing Guidelines and systems
• Monthly monitoring of suppliers performance and co-ordinating associated progress activities
• General system/departmental administration support to ensure system accuracy, purchase order issue and supplier data is maintained.
• Maintain conformance to IATF working procedures
• Implementation of strategy in relevant commodity areas.
• Capable of cascading targets and objectives to suppliers and ensuring targets and objectives are achieved.
• Capable of working autonomously with objectives being set by the Lead Buyer or wider Purchase management structure.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications necessary:

• Demonstrate a varied experience of understanding and applying negotiation.
• Experience in the automotive market or high volume manufacturing environment is essential.
• Previous experience of working within an office environment and can demonstrate professional manners in communication.
• For engineering qualified applicants understanding experience of engineering disciplines.
• To be qualified to a minimum HNC level in business or engineering discipline.
• Studying toward a qualification in procurement (MCIPS or similar) is desirable.
