Job Description

PERMANENT POSITION to start ASAPJOB TITLE: Machine Shop Setter / CNC SetterLocation of Work: Wolverhampton Town CentrePay between: -£15ph up to £19.20 DOE / DOSHours: 6am-3pm OR 7am-4pm OR 6pm-6amShifts: Monday - Thursday fixed.JOB DESCRIPTIONMAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

Setting and operating of CNC lathes, vertical machining centres and horizontal machining centres
Working on Fanuc & Mazatrol controls, conventional machines, (Drills, capstan lathes, fly press etc)
Ensuring cycle times and outputs are achieved to the correct quality standard and report any failings
Complete detailed quality checks against dimensional drawings using measuring equipment, verniers, micrometres and gauges etc.
Pass off 1st off approvals for production run and log and record all measurements on the relevant check sheets.
Program transfers from and to the DNC computer system.
Check all first off and compare last off from machines and verify machine accuracy
Recognise, identify and rectify or report all quality defects and failures to achieve the required standards.
Recognise and report exceptional requirements or shortfalls for parts and components.
Assist with training and developing new team members to the standard required.
This is a clean and well managed work environment so maintaining the area to ensure it continues to be a clean, safe working environment - good housekeeping is required to ensure compliance with Health and Safety standards.
Maintain good communications and relationships throughout the company.
Ensure compliance with company procedures and make suggestions for improvement.
Fill in for machine shop team leader as and when required.

DESIRABLE:

Time served CNC Setter experience with understanding of set ups and tooling
Ability to read drawings and to understand engineering language
Some programming experience preferred
Experience of Mazak CNC lathes
Experience of using Fanuc controls
Engineering qualification or NVQ or equivalent preferred
