Full time, permanent post - BRAND NEW Pivotal RoleBased Burntwood,WS7Salary Negotiable for the rightperson/experienceWe wish to appoint an experienced Training & Development Specialist to help us design and deliver our brand new Mercian Labels Academy to accelerate our journey towards our vision of becoming a world class manufacturer of labels.The Mercian Labels Academy mission is: To be an inspirational learning organisation which is a model of excellence for the label printing industry.You should be passionate about helping people learn and grow. This stand-alone role has been newly created to help us deliver the people and culture priorities for our business strategy and to create a culture at Mercian Labels which enables our people and organisation to thrive.You will play a key role in supporting the design and delivery of our brand new Mercian Labels Academy, something which not many businesses our size would dare to consider. Central to our new Academy will be career pathways for all roles within the business. Don’t be concerned with specialist industry knowledge; we have that in spades. This role is pivotal in dissecting that information and creating L&D programmes and bespoke technical training packages to support career pathways across the entire business.You must be able to both think strategically and take a hands-on role in developing and leading projects. Key to success in this role will be your ability to work collaboratively at all levels and apply your creativity and specialist knowledge and expertise to deliver sustainable change.At the macro level, L&D is about understanding the organisation strategy and its future capability needs in order to identify learning priorities across the organisation. On an individual level, it’s about creating learning environments where employees can continuously develop to be their best.This role is very hands-on and will involve the creation and delivery of training packages on technical subjects as well as encouraging and supporting existing team members to deliver sessions appropriate to their skills/expertise.You will be responsible for reviewing our current approach to learning and development, induction and performance management, making recommendations / plans for improvement, then enacting those plans, ensuring that new plans and processes are aligned to the business plan and organisational needs.We are therefore looking for an experienced learning and development practitioner with organisational development expertise and a proven track record in delivering positive cultural change, specifically in relation to becoming more of a learning organisation.You will have experience of putting in place learning initiatives that have enabled organisations to constantly evolve and develop. You will be able to demonstrate your ability to identify the current and future skills requirements of an organisation, and the creation of flexible learning interventions (through pedagogy, digital and other means) to meet the diverse needs of the workforce.Responsibilities
