Job Description

A globally operating automotive parts manufacturer are looking for an experienced Quality Engineer to join their manufacturing site close to Cannock / Lichfield in Staffordshire.The company supply an array of automotive components to the major automotive OEMs and are looking for an experienced Quality Engineer ideally with automotive industry knowledge.As an experienced Quality Engineer you will support the UK based customers with product quality related issues and communicate with the appropriate internal departments to identify the solutions and ensure corrective measures are put in place. Knowledgeof painted components is essential.Benefits:

  • Up to £40k
  • 25 days Holiday + BH
  • Flexibility on start and finish times (between 7.30am & 9am start times)
Tasks of Quality Engineer:
  • Audit production processes and new processes before SOP to identify nonconformities
  • Lead warranty and service problem solving
  • Support new projects (FMEA, control plans, quality instructions, fixture designs, process capabilities, master samples)
  • Complete self-audits to identify potential issues to maintain process control
  • Product segregation for good / failed components and support production in problem solving
  • Liaise between production departments and internal customers
  • Escalate as required any customer/internal concerns to the Quality Manager
  • Support production improvement projects
Skills & Experience:
  • Experience from automotive supply (1st tier preferred and ideally painted products)
  • Recognised engineering or equivalent qualification
  • Experience with quality control and problem solving
  • Knowledge of FMEA, 8D, Control Plans etc
  • Dealing with customers and other internal departments
