Opened in December 2017, a unique hair salon within the East Lancashire Town of Burnley is looking for an experienced and ambitious stylist to join as the Salon Manager. The salon offers services to the multi-cultural community that is Burnley and its surrounding areas. This role offers you flexible working hours, paid for training and development opportunities, a supportive and fun team environment as well as the option to progress, and make the place your own!The ideal candidate will be competent, energetic and self-motivated with a real passion to drive the business forward. - Salon Manager Role & Responsibilities: - Manage the day to day running of the hair salon- Manage and support stylists, allocating clients to the appropriate stylist- Ensure high levels of cleanliness and maintenance- Support and assist in the training and development of all the team- Stock taking and ordering supplies as and when required- Ensure correct equipment and PPE is provided and worn at all times- Ensure all equipment is in safe working order- Leading by example, contributing to team meetings and encouraging the team to go above and beyond- Assist with recruitment of new team members- Be hands on with cut, colour and styling of client’s hair- Advising customers about products and specialist treatments to increase revenue- Managing costs and finding ways to monitor this- Ensure accurate client records are kept in line with GDPR and Data Protection- Salon Manager Requirements: - Level 3 Diploma in Hairdressing (or higher) is preferred- Skilled stylist with proven experience and the ability to do wedding hair- Creative and technical knowledge of colouring- Excellent customer service and communication skills- A keenness for developing themselves and the team- Previous experience of marketing and business development is desirable- Decision making and problem-solving skills are essential- Good knowledge of combination and ethnic hair is essential- Friendly, upbeat and approachable nature with a true community spirit- Adaptability to communicate with a diverse range of clientele- Works well under pressure remaining calm in a stressful situation- Some experience of a management position would be advantageousBased in the historic part of the city, in what is a newly observed buzzing community atmosphere this is the only Afro Caribbean salon in the area, which provides a unique selling point.In return, the successful Salon Manager will receive, a salary of £21,000 - £25,000 depending on experience.If you are looking for a role where you can develop yourself and others, express your creativity and contribute to a successful business, please click apply now online.
