Working within a large busy distribution centre supporting the ever-increasing automation of the NDC we arelooking to expand our dedicated team of Facilities Engineers.The successful applicant must have a keen eye for detail and a can-do attitude to continue to maintain a high standard of service. We will provide full training on all aspects of the machines which will be maintained.Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform Safe Maintenance Practices on all NDC kit, including hand- held equipment, conveyors, and machinery and all new automated assets including I.T requirements
  • Able to adapt to new challenges and participate in an advanced development program
  • Safe operating and maintenance of all NDC assets including Bailers, compactors, Pallet trucks, LLOPS, chutes
  • Reporting and monitoring of breakdowns & repairs using a CMMS system
  • Reporting off Near misses, Good Catches for OSHENs
  • Participation in any Daily, Weekly, Monthly and periodic department FM and Engineering meetings
  • Executing periodic short term and long-term PPM maintenance routines.
  • Working collaboratively with the Operational teams to ensure smooth running of all equipment at all times
  • To be the first point of contact in the event of any breakdown and perform Route Cause Analysis to identify point of failure
The ideal person would:
  • Have a technical mind, though previous experience would not be essential.
  • Be a well organised individual with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Be calm and composed under pressure
  • Apply and deliver a CAN-DO attitude
  • Owns commitment and demonstrates a Bias-for-Action way of working
  • Be keen to learn and develop as an individual
  • Be prepared to work rotating shifts, alongside the rest of the team
  • A team player who is happy to get involved to get the best job done.
Qualifications:
  • Standard Numeracy & literacy literate
  • Desire to either progress or kick start a career in engineering, with ideally an Engineering, Maintenance related qualification
  • Able to complete Technical tests and understand schematics.
Requirements:
  • Willingness to travel to different locations and work outside in variable weather conditions
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Physically fit and able to lift and manoeuvre equipment
  • Excellent communication skills and a customer focused attitude
  • Strong numeracy and literacy skills
Although not essential, an understanding of automated systems would be beneficial.
