Job Description

Care Assistant - Days£9.00 per hour plus paid breaks, uniform, DBS & benefits36 hours per weekThe Lodge at Burcot Grange is a luxurious 54 bedded residential and dementia home that is situated in the grounds of Burcot Grange, Bromsgrove. We are currently recruiting Care Assistants to join our team due to our occupancy rising. We offer full support and training and encourage career development.Our care assistants create a happy and caring atmosphere; which involves providing a wide range of general caring services and duties and to help in the care of the residents physical environment and the general day to day activities within the home.We provide full support and training and career development.Duties of our care assistants:

  • Ensuring the highest possible levels of care are maintained by supporting / assisting residents, when required, with washing, toileting, dressing, undressing, and all other aspects of daily living, according to their individual needs.
  • Paying particular attention to assisting residents who have limited mobility, or physical difficulties, making the best use of aids provided.
  • Closely monitoring residents who may be confused and/or who have behavioural problems.
  • Assisting in the delivery of care for residents who are dying or who have a progressive illness. Keeping your line manager fully informed of the events.
  • Promote the rights, dignity, privacy, respect, & choice to every resident when providing care.
  • Support & encourage residents to maintain their independence with daily living.
  • Assisting in framework of social activities by interacting with residents and helping them to continue with hobbies and activities in the Home.
  • Under the supervision and guidance of Senior Care Assistants, reporting on the well-being of residents.
  • Making Visitors feel welcome. Providing refreshments / assistance as and when required.
  • Making and changing beds, ensuring that rooms are clean and tidy, and commodes are empty. Ensuring the Homes resources are used appropriately.
  • Reporting immediately to the General Manager, or Person in Charge, any illness of an infectious nature or accident incurred by a resident, colleague, self or another.

  • Physically and medically able to carry out duties and responsibilities with or without assistive aids
  • NVQ level 2 or equivalent qualifications if not willingness to attend
  • Team player, self-motivated, proactive, flexible and adaptable
  • Ability to organise and prioritise workload and work under pressure
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
