Job Description

Title: Lecturer in Environmental ManagementType: Fixed Term, Part-time (0.6FTE)Salary:£37,229 - £42,660 per annum pro/rataLocation: SRUC Aberdeen CampusREF: ANF/RLU/047/22Closing Date: 9th July 2023SRUC is unique in Scotland and one of the largest organisations of its kind in Europe. Our ambitious and exciting vision is to work at local, national and international levels, leading innovation and sustainable development in agriculture and rural sectors.The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of environment subjects that form part of the Wildlife and Conservation Management, Agriculture, and Rural Business Management curricula. We are particularly interested in candidates with a holisticapproach to the environment and sustainability and a practical understanding of environmental issues across a range of land-based activities would be an advantage. We are looking for candidates that can contribute to the teaching of rural planning, integratedcatchment management, and environmental sustainability. Responsibilities will include:

  • Teaching and supporting Higher National, UG and MSc students, supervising projects and dissertations.
  • Maintaining a portfolio of teaching activity of high quality, reputation, and impact.
  • Continually developing approaches to learning, teaching and assessment which are innovative in the subject area and reflect best practice.
  • Participating actively in the development of subject based pedagogy and teaching, learning and assessment strategies.
  • Engage in the administration relating to teaching and learning.
  • Contributing to the development of curriculum to embrace industry needs.
  • Knowledge Exchange, which develop and sustain support for the subject area and recognised excellence for the institution.
  • Actively contribute to the subject specialism through engaging with learned societies and professional bodies
