Our ambitious and exciting vision is to work at local, national and international levels, leading innovation and sustainable development in agriculture and rural sectors.We are looking for an ecologist with a strong emphasis on biodiversity conservation who is able to integrate with colleagues across our existing teaching and research strengths. Candidates should have strengths in fieldwork, species identification skillsand data analysis and a knowledge of the importance of applying fundamental ecology for advancing conservation science (specific research interests and skills may include, but not limited to, forestry/agroforestry, agroecology and wildlife conservation policy). The successful candidate will be required to teach on and further develop the UG and PG Wildlife and Conservation Management portfolio. Within this programme across SRUC, there is an emphasis on preparing students for careers in conservation, ecosystem servicesand fostering the essential fieldwork skills needed by practicing conservation managers.SRUC is seeking a closer alignment of its research and education activities and it is hoped that the successful applicant will contribute to world class research carried out within SRUC on terms of grant income and publication output. You will grasp the opportunityto foster cross-disciplinary collaborations and ambitions that will build on current strengths within the department, and across the institution.This is a part time role of 18.5 hours per week (0.5 FTE).In August 2022, all academic roles will be assimilated to a new job families structure.
