Our ambitious and exciting vision is to work at local, national and international levels, leading innovation and sustainable development in agriculture and rural sectors.We are looking for an enthusiastic academic with a strong emphasis in agriculture who is able to integrate with colleagues across our existing research and education strengths. Candidates may have specific research interests and skills to include, but notlimited to, soil science, agronomy and soil ecology. The post resides within the Department of Rural Land Use within SRUCs Northern Faculty and will be based at SRUCs Craibstone campus in Aberdeen. Current programmes of education include NC, HNC, HND, BSc(Hons) and MSc across the subject areas of Agriculture.The post holder will be expected to contribute to educational delivery in Agriculture and related courses where appropriate. It is envisaged that the post holder will deliver modules in general agriculture in the UK, ranging from level 6 to postgraduatelevel, including both campus based and distance learning programmes. As a team a strong emphasis is placed upon applied delivery including practical classes on college farms and visits to other agricultural businesses.The successful applicant will ideally have experience of field and laboratory research preferably related to soils and be able to continue existing projects. SRUC is seeking a closer alignment of its research and education activities and it is hoped thatthe successful applicant will contribute to world class research carried out within SRUC in terms of grant income and publication output.
