The offshore wind sector in the UKis growing rapidly as we move away from fossils fuels and as a world leader in this area UK businesses are supporting countries across the world, opening up even more opportunities for your career.About the roleAs part of our Marine Physical Processes team, you will use your detailed understanding of the interaction of development projects (particularly offshore wind projects) with marine process regimes to our ongoing and future project portfolio and help expandour technical offering to our clients.You will provide technical support to our physical processes related workstreams, managing and delivering technical assessments to support offshore wind farm development projects. You will provide technical advice in areas such as seabed and coastal erosion,and the assessment work you carry out will inform the strategic direction to our existing clients and projects.You will also work with our dedicated EIA/HRA teams to provide specialist input and advice on the interaction of marine developments on the receiving physical environment as part of the wider EIA and HRA projects.About youWe are specifically looking for candidates who have studied a geo-sciences, oceanography or marine processes (BSc or MSc). You will also require practical working knowledge in these areas preferably within consultancy, you should be to apply your detailedunderstanding of the interaction of development projects (particularly offshore wind projects) with marine process regimes to our ongoing and future project portfolio and help expand our technical offering to our clients.You should possess a working knowledge of the technical assessments underpinning marine processes work (e.g. numerical modelling, sediment dispersal, geophysical and hydrodynamic assessments etc.). Experience of working within the planning process acrossthe UK would be highly beneficial.Alongside this we are looking for someone with good interpersonal skills, good written and verbal presentation skills and the ability to work with clients understanding their needs but the with the ability to influence and use scientific rigour to guidebest advice.Next stepsWe expect significant interest in this flexible and rewarding role.
