Job Description

*8am - 4pm Monday to Friday: as far as Nottingham and Worcester*Key Responsibilities:Delivers products/goods safely and efficiently to designated locations within set timeframes. Ensure proper handling and delivery of sensitive materials whilst also maintaining the highest level of customer service.Role Specific Duties

  • Drives safely and follow all laws and rules of driving to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Ensure company vehicle is well maintained, fuel, oil, tyre check and cleanliness form part of the daily review prior to leaving site.
  • Ensure vehicle is cleaned inside and out weekly.
  • Communicates with customers to update if there are issues with agreed delivery times, or changes to estimated time of arrival.
  • Follow pre-planned routes accurately without deviation from set course.
  • Maintains communication with the company to advise any changes to delivery, route, schedule.
  • Informs management within a satisfactory timescale to any obstructions which prevent the safe/efficient delivery of parts.
  • Ensure the company is always notified if there are any changes to full driving license, penalty point endorsement or ban.
  • Ensure company is always aware if there are any subsequent charges applied whilst driving i.e. tunnel, toll or any bridges.
  • Ensure outside the business is maintained and all areas are kept clean and tidy ensuring all items are in correct skips.
  • Support other areas of the business as instructed by management.
Statutory Duties
  • Work in a safe manner in compliance with company Health & Safety policies and procedures alongside statutory requirements. Reporting any unsafe working practises / activities is essential.
  • Work in a manner that will maintain compliance to compliance to the Environmental policies and procedures alongside statutory requirements. Reporting any potential environmental issues is essential.
Business Duties
  • Continually review working practices to remove and reduce waste and non-value adding activities. Actively support and contribute to the continuous improvement programme.
  • Participate in training activity within the company.
  • Work with a minimum amount of supervision, supporting and maintaining good level of productivity in business.
  • Positively support teamwork and circulation of experience within the workforce (through mentoring, knowledge sharing and development of standard operating procedures).
  • Maintain good housekeeping in the work place and maintaining shadow boards / equipment provided.
