Jennifer Griffiths Recruitment are looking for experienced Upholsterers and Sewing Machinists for a Client in the Bridgend area.Immediate starts.UpholstererJob Description* Previous experience is essential.* To prepare fabric and components for use in the Upholstery and/or soft furnishings.* To prepare to upholster items of furniture involving preparation of the frame for upholstery, application of suspensions and filling materials.* To competently fix upholstery to a standard items of modern furniture and traditional furniture using a hand held staple gun, screw gun and other hand tools.* Manual handling, as some lifting is required.* Measuring and cutting skills would also be beneficial.* Ability to use own initiative and to work to meet Production deadlines.Sewing MachinistJob Description* Previous experience is essential.* Experience in preparing fabrics for bespoke soft furnishing products including measuring, cutting, joining and hemming fabrics to meet bespoke job briefs.* Experience in making loose covers.* Pattern matching skills essential.* Quality control of completed work.* Making repairs effectively and efficiently when required.* Basic machine maintenance.* Maintaining stock of relevant machinist tools.Requirements* Industrial machining experience is essential.* Experience sewing heavy sizeable fabrics.* Attention to detail.* Achieve daily production targets.The hours of work are Monday to Friday/7.30am - 4.30pm.
