Job Description

Our client, based in Berkshire, is currently recruiting for a Fixed Asset/ Capital Accountant on a 12 month fixed term contract. The position is due to start as soon as possible, subject to notice.The salary for this role is circa £40,000 - £45,000 per annum based on experience.The ideal candidate will have experience working in the social housing sector and either be fully qualified or a finalist.Duties will include (but not limited to):

  • Checking, processing and accounting for capital transactions related to the group’s Development
  • Producing timely, relevant and accurate monthly / quarterly financial management information and the statutory annual financial statement
  • Responsible for annual capital budgeting and quarterly capital reforecast, liaising with Business Planning and Development budget holders
  • Preparing regulatory returns, HCA reporting, and grant claim processing and accounting
  • Maintaining continual and clear communication with Treasury and Business Planning functions and Group Accountant to deliver objectives
  • Maintaining the integrated Asset Register and support the team in the full application of component accounting
  • Gain an awareness of revenue and capital sales activity so as to support the team in forecasting and accounting for this important area of operations
    • Experience required:
  • A background in the social housing sector
  • Either a qualified accountant or ACCA/FCCA finalist
  • Familiar with Open Accounts financial system - desirable but not essential
    • Skills, knowledge and expertise required:
  • Intermediate Excel competencies - able to use data manipulation
