Material Planning Lead £40,000 - £45,000Pension, HolidayThe Material Management role is a new position in the structure for the Procurement Department.Due to continued growth of new business its time for the company to strengthen its supply chain operation by introducing the Materials Manager role. As you work to optimise Material Flow and Inventory ensuring Material Availability in planning around Customer and Production demands through various production and supply stages you will work closely with suppliers to ensure reliability, quality, monitor stocklevels and additional cost saving opportunities are explored. This is a Team Leader role so requires strong communication of demands into the wider business & manufacturing departments; overseeing a smooth flow of communication between production processes; optimising WIP; plus managing an ERP / MRP system. • Management of all material BOMs • Understand and develop Materials Management reporting requirements at commencement of Project and review requirements at key stages during Project execution. • Develop and implement appropriate materials management execution plan. • Set up and configure the Material Management system and appropriate training across the team. • Ensure full compliance and proper use of the material management system to ensure the accuracy of the data. • Coordination and management of overall material availability and visibility. • Management and distribution of materials management workload. • Manage Safe and Secure Storage of materials, with appropriate segregation • Promote Health, Safety, Security and Environment within project team • Understand the need for close inter-departmental working relationships to ensure timely delivery of materials in line with Project Plan. Your Experience and Attributes: • 5+ years Materials Management experience • Extensive knowledge of and confident user of ERP/MRP systems • IT Literate (Excel/Word etc) • Managerial experience • Experience of development and implementation of Company Procedures • Experience in the handling, storing and preservation of materials and equipment • Competent in maintaining and updating project reports accordingly • Highly motivated, self-starter with proven track record of leading teams and delivering results • Actively promotes company values and business ethics • Strong verbal and written communication skills • Ability to adapt and react to change positively • Ability to positively articulate material status and raise concerns in a client facing role and across a wider leadership team.
