  • To act as buddy to new Support Workers
  • Ensure that the role and responsibilities of the Support Worker is full understood and demonstrated by all support staff.
  • Ensure that Staff read and understand the ward Manual of Care
  • Act as a Role Model with professional behavior, respecting our residentsand confidentiality, developing other Staff, sharing knowledge and skills, and being supportive when there are crises or incidents.
  • Act as a trainer/coach to the team, ensuring that training is consistently and accurately applied in the workplace, identifying skills gaps and arranging/delivering coaching to fill gaps.
  • To contribute and be part of a consistent highly professional Team supporting nurses and be recognised for skills in communicating with residents
  • Work with the team and contribute to raising standards, increased focus on residents needs
  • Responsibility for ensuring that new initiatives, changes in policy and procedure are cascaded to support workers, implemented and consistently applied on the ward to agreed standards and timescales.
  • Were looking for people who have:
  • will need to havesupport worker experience of at least 2 years and team leadership experience of at 1 year.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills and the ability to be a good team player
  • Sensitive and intuitive with the energy required to provide a trusting, stimulating & varied environment
  • Helping to empower & support service user independence.
  • Flexible to work 12.5 hour shift patterns on a rota basis including weekends
  • NVQ level 3or equivalent in a relevant care setting or working towards it currently.
