Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Glasgow, is currently looking to recruit a Finance Administrator for an initial 3-month contract with option to extend on a rate of £12.79/hour PAYE (37 hours per week). The hours of work will beMonday to Thursday 8am – 4.30pm and Friday 8 am – 4pm, with 1 hour for lunch.This role will be based on site. Responsibilities:- Process all bank and cash transactions and complete daily reconciliations of cash in hand and State and Funds general ledger accounts- Complete daily, weekly and monthly reconciliations and analysis, including schedule of losses, ensuring that all completed returns are ready for approval by the establishment’s Finance Manager within the agreed timescales.- Review cashbook payments including travel & subsistence claims are compliant to policies and process through the financial system (Agresso), bank and cash account (including internet banking) and the appropriate independent financial systems used.- Manage and keep secure bank and cash accounts for State, prisoner owned funds to ensure reasonable balances are kept within practices- Provide assurance for the propriety of cash locally held, ensuring the establishment is compliant with financial policy and guidance and audit requirements are met at all times.- Regularly provide assistance to other areas of the finance and administration function as directed by the Finance Manager or Administration Manager.Essential Skills:- Minimum of five National 5 (or equivalent) qualifications including English and Mathematics or at least six months relevant experience gained in a similar role and/ or environment.- Experience of processing data within a financial management system (desirable)- Experience of processing bank transactions and completions bank reconciliation (desirable)- Good numeracy skills, including the ability to interrogate and analyse a wide range of data (essential).- Good communication skills both written and verbal (essential).If you would like to hear more about this opportunity, please get in touch.Indeed publicsector
