Job Description

Nursery Room LeaderKindred MayflowerKindred Mayflower is an 82 place nursery for children aged 3 months to 5 years and is open from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm. The nursery has five rooms and two outside garden spaces along with a free flow classroom. Their gardens consist of soft grass play surfacing,built in sand pits, a track to ride bikes and cars and planting areas.Kindred Mayflower are thrilled to be seeking a passionate, Room Leader to join the rapidly growing Kindred family and to be part of the magic.Your main duties will include:

  • Supporting the manager and fellow room leaders to ensure the highest standards of early years care and education across the setting
  • Maintaining an organised, safe and stimulating room environment
  • Keeping accurate records and ensuring procedures are followed within the room
  • Managing the room to ensure operational compliance to the EYFS and other regulatory frameworks
  • Deputising for the Manager and Deputy Manager when required and ensuring that day-to-day functions such as staffing, interfacing with parents and nursery health and safety policies are carried out
  • Supporting the Manager in delivering staff induction, supervision and performance management of room staff

You will be required to be involved in out of working hours activities, such as training, monthly staff meetings and fundraising events as required.To be successful for this role, you must:
  • Have a full, relevant childcare qualification at a minimum of Level 3
  • Proven ability as a Practitioner within a childcare setting
  • Detailed knowledge of the EYFS guidelines
