Job Description

ApprenticeNursery SettingEarn while you learn! Work towards your Level 3 Early Years Educator Apprenticeship. Kindred MayflowerKindred Mayflower is an 82 place nursery for children aged 3 months to 5 years and is open from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm. The nursery has five rooms and two outside garden spaces along with a free flow classroom.Their gardens consist of soft grass play surfacing, built in sand pits, a track to ride bikes and cars and planting areas.Our Mayflower Nursery are excited to be looking for a passionate Apprentice to join the Kindred family and to be part of the magic.Your key responsibilities will be:

  • To supervise children at all times to ensure they are happy, safe and cared for.
  • To assist in setting up the environments indoors and outdoors to ensuring they are interesting and provide learning and play opportunities.
  • Work closely with all team members to learn and grow your childcare skills, ensure improvement feedback is taken on board and you are open to being continually guided and coached in outstanding childcare.
  • To be a positive role model to the children and to learn from other team members.
  • To ensure that you take responsibility for health and safety as guided by your mentor / buddy.
  • To cover all rooms and tasks within the nursery when necessary.
  • To build good partnership/relationships with parents giving accurate and thorough feedback.
  • To attend regular staff meetings and training to keep own knowledge up to date.
  • Ensure all coursework/meetings/training/exams are kept up to date and on track in order to complete your apprenticeship qualification in a timely manner.

You will be required to work 40 hours per week including having supported study time.You will need:
  • To enrol on an appropriate childcare course
