Job Description

You will provide leadership and co-ordinate the activities of the H&S Managers and facilitate the implementation of Unipart’s Health and Safety policies across multiple sites. Providing technical health and safety support to individual sites, business units, and projects, you will promote the principle that effective management of health and safety is an integral part of efficient business and operational management.Senior Health and Safety Manager Responsibilities:

  • Advise management on Health and Safety Legislation, safe methods of working, prevention of hazards to health, and suitability of plant, protective equipment, and control measures.
  • Initiate timely and appropriate actions in emergency situations, contact and communicate effectively with all relevant stakeholders.
  • Monitoring the effectiveness of the Company Safety Policy by carrying out inspections in association with site management and providing written reports of such inspections, including Complete internal Health and Safety Audits, ISO 45001 internal audits, and help annual accreditation.
  • Ensure each site has appropriate Driver trainers and Assessors.
  • Ensure each site have appropriate MHE training programmes RIITB / ITTSAR.
  • Work with Group H&S to ensure Health and Safety policy and procedure supports contract needs.
  • Produce relevant incident information and reports for Group H&S. Aid Group reporting requirements.
    • Senior Health and Safety Manager Requirements:
  • NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety.
  • Experience of delivering Health and Safety in a ‘shop floor’ environment.
  • Experience of supporting safety requirements of a Commercial LGV fleet.
  • Personal credibility and self confidence in a customer facing quality orientated role.
  • Track record of working at all levels, from Senior Managers to Shop Floor.
  • Excellent organisation skills and close attention to detail.
  • Ability to use numerical skills to conduct trend analysis supported by Excel.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills.
