Job Description

About us:The Lishman Unit is a National specialist inpatient Neuropsychiatric unit, currently located within Bethlem Royal Hospital. Our ward is split into two pathways, Organic and Functional. The Organic pathway is a level 1 Brain injury unit providing specialist rehabilitation for patients with cognitive, behavioural and psychiatric disorders following acquired brain injury of any cause. The Functional pathway provides Rehabilitation for patients diagnosed with Functional Neurological Disorder (FND). Both patient pathways require multidisciplinary care which consists of a combination of Physiotherapy, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language therapy, Nursing and Medical input. The aim of admission is to help broaden patients levels of functioning and also to lower their distress around their diagnosis.About the role:Are you an enthusiastic and motivated neurological physiotherapist who enjoys working as part of an MDT Due to our current band 7 relocating abroad, we have a permeant vacancy available for a band 7 neuropsychiatry physiotherapist to join our team. They will be working alongside a team including neuropsychiatry consultants, nurses, occupational therapists, psychologist and speech and language therapist. Your role will be supported by the clinical specialist physiotherapist. The post will involve patients with functional neurological disorders and acquired brain injuries. A broad range of neurological experience is essential, additionally an interest in mental health would be beneficial. You will need to have knowledge and skills to supervise a 6 physiotherapist and rehab support workers. The post holder will require good communication skills, and the ability to review, promote and develop the service.About the location:Our Trust headquarters is located at Denmark Hill less than 5 minutes from the train station (zone 2).
