A unique opportunity has arisen for an experienced pharmacy technician to join our established, friendly, and dynamic clinical pharmacy team at South London and the Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust.As part of the senior operational team this exciting new post will form part of a wider restructure of the pharmacy service where you will have responsibility for the delivery of high quality services to clozapine patients at SLaM. This post provides the opportunity to use your organisational and consultation skills to provide excellent patient care in clozapine clinics as part of the multidisciplinary team as well as developing leadership, education and training skills.There are also opportunities for involvement in teaching, quality improvement and research. We are looking for a pharmacy technician whose career has demonstrated excellent organisational and interpersonal skills. You will also have a good working knowledge of clozapine as well as being an Accredited Checking Technician (ACPT) and have experience in medicines management.South London and the Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust provide the widest range of NHS mental health services in the UK. We are a world leading Trust in research, working closely with the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience at King’s College London. Our services include the Maudsley Hospital, Lambeth Hospital and Bethlem Royal Hospital. We are also part of King’s Health Partners Academic Health Sciences Centre.The pharmacy department provides a clinical and dispensing service to wards and community teams in Croydon, Southwark, Lambeth and Lewisham across four hospital sites and a wide variety of community mental health teams. We also provide information about medication to both staff and patients to improve understanding and contribute to evidence based care.This post will be based at the Bethlem Royal Hospital pharmacy, but the post holder will be required to support clozapine clinics in Lewisham and Croydon.About the location:Our Trust headquarters is located at Denmark Hill less than 5 minutes from the train station (zone 2). We also provide services and operate across other locations, such as London boroughs of Croydon, Lambeth, Lewisham and Southwark; and substance misuse services for residents of Bexley, Lambeth, Greenwich and Wandsworth.The Bethlem Royal Hospital is located in Beckenham, Kent and is served by Eden park train station as well as a bus journey away from East Croydon Station.The Ladywell unit is based in University Hospital Lewisham in Lewisham, South London and is well served by public transport.Benefits:We are committed to ensuring our staff get the most out of their benefits package and understand the importance of a healthy work life balance.
