Job Description

About the team:South London and the Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust has the largest child & adolescent mental health services in the country. The in-patient service, part of National and Specialist CAMHS, are seeking to recruit a part time Clinical Psychologist for this post based at Bethlem Adolescent Unit (BAU). BAU is an inpatient mental health unit for adolescents aged 12 to 18 years based at the Bethlem Royal Hospital site, Monks Orchard Rd, Beckenham, Kent.About the role:You will join a highly experienced specialist psychology team (working across four Child & Adolescent in-patient units). You will be joining another part time ward Psychologist at the BAU who recently reduced her hours from full time. On the unit you will be part of a multi-disciplinary team, providing psychological assessment and interventions for adolescents who present with a range of severe and complex mental health problems such as eating disorders, obsessive compulsive disorder, psychotic and affective disorders and neuropsychiatric conditions,. As well as clinical work, you will provide support, consultation and supervision to other members of the multidisciplinary team.There are exciting research and service development opportunities and the service provides placements for several clinical psychology training programmes. Excellent supervision, support and opportunities for Continued Professional Development are available. Clinical and managerial supervision will be provided by the Lead Psychologist for inpatient CAMHS.
