Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Youth Worker with expertise in working with young people with challenging behaviours to join our team. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of the underlying causes of challenging behaviours inyoung people and a proven track record of implementing effective interventions and strategies to support them.Responsibilities:• Develop and implement individualized behaviour support plans for young people with challenging behaviours, in collaboration with families and other professionals.• Provide one-on-one support and guidance to young people with challenging behaviours, using positive behaviour management strategies and evidence-based interventions.• Work collaboratively with families, caregivers, and external agencies to provide a comprehensive and coordinated approach to supporting young people with challenging behaviours.• Lead group sessions and workshops to support young people in developing social and emotional skills and managing their behaviours.• Maintain accurate and confidential records of interactions with young people and ensure that all necessary documentation is completed in a timely manner.• Advocate for the rights and needs of young people with challenging behaviours and support them to actively participate in their communities.Qualifications:• A degree or diploma in a related field, such as social work, psychology, counselling, youth work or education.• Demonstrated experience working with young people with challenging behaviours and a deep understanding of the underlying causes of challenging behaviours.• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with young people, families and professionals.• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and maintain positive relationships with colleagues, volunteers and external stakeholders.• A commitment to ongoing professional development and a willingness to learn new skills and approaches.• Flexibility and ability to work outside of regular business hours as required.If you are passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of young people with challenging behaviours and have the skills and experience we are looking for, we encourage you to apply.
