Job Description

Reed Finance, Norwich is currently recruiting exclusively for an SME services business based in Beccles for a full time, permanent Finance Manager to lead the company through its next stage of growth.Reporting into the Managing Director, this Finance Manager role will have direct input into the strategic direction of the business and will play a key part in reporting on budgets and forecasts with the aim of growing the company. This role will also overseea Finance Assistant with the aim of mentoring, developing and growing the team.Principal duties of the role:

  • Production of monthly financials, including sales analysis reports. Preparing and posting journal entries, including accruals and prepayments
  • Monthly Profit and Loss by Department (Advanced Budget) for each department
  • Create forecasts to revise the end of the financial year P&L expectations, as well as extract other data and provide ad hoc financial reports when needed
  • Responsible for cash management, including reviewing weekly and creating long-range cash flow
  • Oversee Payroll to ensure all is processed correctly
  • Manage Fixed Asset Register
  • Purchase and Sales Ledger control
  • Assist in establishing and maintaining financial policies and procedures for the company
  • Understands and adheres to financial regulations and legislation.
Job Specific Outcomes:
  • Responsible for producing financial reports, forecasts, cashflow, variance analysis and commentaries that provides a comprehensive view of the financial performance of the business.
  • Responsible for providing explanation of the forecast and assistance in the understanding of any variances between planned and unplanned income and expenditure thereby supporting effective finance-based business decision making.
Experience & Qualifications:
  • Qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) is preferred or qualified by experience will be considered as well as those actively studying
  • Minimum of 4 years demonstrable experience of the day-to-day running of an accounts department
  • Experience of Sage desired
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience of working in a growing SME is preferred
