Job Description

PlannerLocation: Suffolk areaSalary: CompetitiveOur client is a leading building and civil engineering contractor with over 80 years experience of delivering world- class projects across the UK and Ireland.The company, which employs more than 550 people, has offices in Belfast, London, Cambridge and Edinburgh, with further site offices connecting its regional network.With over 45 live sites across the UK and Ireland, the company can offer you a varied career which gives you the opportunity to gain experience across a range of projects of all sizes, locations and sectors.The RoleThe company have an opportunity for a civils planner to join the planning team who cover projects across the UK. You will be working alongside the Head of Planning, Senior Planners, Site Team & Contracts Managers to develop a detailed delivery & procurementschedule.As a Planner you will be responsible for:

  • Responsible for all scheduling and planning activities as per tender and contract requirements
  • Create, maintain and review construction programmes and schedules
  • Fully understand project programmes and schedules and communicate to the wider team
  • Identify programme risks, make provision for them and apply solutions and problem-solving techniques
  • Liaise with management and engineers to review the progress of construction projects and address issues
  • Co-ordinate work activity with external contractors, third parties, suppliers and other stakeholders
  • Consult and negotiate with third parties including consultants, designers and developers as required
  • Monitor live projects through regular site inspections and provide progress reports to present to the project team, senior management and client as required
  • Develop and present written method statements and programme commentaries
  • Undertake; detailed analysis of delays in contract plans and report accordingly to line manager; a programme of projects revisions as and when required
  • To promote innovation in their work and drive improvements in the planning roles
Your required Skills and Experience
  • Demonstrable experience within Planning working on civil engineeringprojects
  • Relevant education qualifications required
  • Competent user of P6, Asta Powerproject and the complete Microsoftoffice package
  • Proven experience of project and team management
  • Excellent communication and team collaboration skills
