Job DescriptionMechanical Design Engineer/CAD DesignerWe are working with a worldwide bespoke machinery manufacturer based near Lowestoft. They have a new opportunity for both 2 x temporary and 1 x permanent Design engineer to design complex mechanisms/ assemblies/arrangements (using Solidworks or Solidedge) that provide cost effective solutions to overcome product handling problems relative to the packaging industry. In turn you will produce detail drawings and material schedules which are accurate, cost effective, comply to the specification and which can be constructed and commissioned safely and effectively. Key Responsibilities/Activities:¨ Produce technical information, drawings and associated schedules and documents, taking due account of h&s requirements, designs, specifications and standards relating to the contract¨ Testing and commissioning of the mechanical and/or electrical systems¨ Deal with specifiers and/or suppliers/distributors¨ Report problems and deficiencies in the design and brief¨ Maintain competitiveness by ensuring drawings are produced within the durations indicated¨ Ensure technical co-ordination with all other internal and external disciplines i.e. lead the team.¨ Ensure projects are delivered to timescale and budget¨ Maintain drawing files and records throughout the duration of the contract¨ Suggest solutions to problems based on an understanding of relevant technologies¨ Visit customers on a world-wide basis, as required, to help achieve sales, resolve problems and test machines¨ Maintain product costing data¨ Ensure statutory and company procedures and practices are maintained¨ Work with and support other departments to ensure business objectives are achieved¨ Promote a safe working environment ensuring compliance with all current legislationBackground/Experience:The ideal candidate will have extensive experience within an engineering-related position and proven experience in a manufacturing/assembly environmentYou will hold a relevant mechanical/ design qualification as well as proven experience of using 3D CAD software, ideally Solidworks and knowledge of continuous improvement techniquesTechnique Recruitment Solutions are a specialist Engineering Recruitment Company based in Norfolk
