Job Description

Assistant AccountantJob Type: 36 months Fixed Term Contract or Fixed Term with a view to permanentLocation: BecclesWorking Hours: 39 hours per week Monday - FridaySalary: £28,000 - £45,000 Depending on ExperienceBenefits:

We pride ourselves on being able to offer our customers the complete in-house solution - from design to delivery.The RoleAssistant Accountant:Recording of financial transactions of PCE Automation Ltd and its subsidiary companies in an efficient and timely manner, ensuring accuracy, sufficient detailed analysis, and electronic storage of supporting evidence. Working closely with the Financial Controllerto provide information to support decision making for management team and meet all regulatory requirements.ResponsibilitiesAssistant Accountant:The Assistant Accountant, will work with the finance team & be responsible for:
  • Managing review & prepare information on labour bookings to projects from T & A system.
  • Update project costing sheets & review profitability.
  • Manage utility costs across all sites.
  • Expenses analysis and payments - including ensuring procedures are followed.
  • Ensuring payroll costs are accurately recorded by department.
  • Maintaining fixed asset registerincluding evaluation of new equipment, depreciation forecast.
  • Completion of month end prepayments & accruals postings.
  • Preparation and analysis of management accounts and KPIs
  • Assist with the preparation of cashflow forecast.
  • Assist with departmental budgeting and reporting of variance analysis.
  • Assist with monthly, revenue recognition & analysis within MRP system.
  • Develop procedures and checklists to support all accounting routines.
  • Generate ideas for improvement and cost saving.
Person SpecificationAssistant Accountant:The following list is an indication of the skills that the successful candidate will possess, in fulfilment of the position:
  • Part qualified CIMA/ ACCA or qualified by experience.
  • Proven skills in Microsoft Office 365.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Flexibility and task prioritisation skills.
  • Adaptable to new procedures and systems.
  • Good knowledge of integrated accounting systems.
  • Good knowledge of VAT Regulations.
  • Experience of export and import customs documentation & procedures.
  • Strong, independent problem-solving abilities.
  • A good team player.
  • Able to work on own initiative.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
General RequirementsAssistant Accountant:
  • Liaising with suppliers and customers.
  • Identify and understand the requirements of the internal customer.
  • Understanding of MRP manufacturing systems.
  • Understanding of revenue recognition in a project environment.
  • Understanding of payroll costs.
  • Experience of Automated Accounts Payable processing.
  • Maintaining a clean paper free working environment.
  • Keeping up to date with Company procedures and news.
  • Understanding and promoting working with the Companys Core values.
  • Compliance with security procedures and health & safety.
