Company: Leading manufacturing company Job Title: Production Team Leader Location: Barton Under Needwood Salary: £32k - £36k / annum + benefits Hours: 7.30am-4.00pm Mon - Fri (40 hour week) Main Purpose: This is a great opportunity for an experienced team leader to join an established manufacturing company within the Barton Under Needwood area. The role offers excellent support and opportunities for progression.Working within a small team you will report into the Production Supervisor and run a production cell. This is a productive role, and the first line of management for operational staff. The expectation is you will spend 75% of your time productive as a teammember and 25% of your time dedicated to a team leader.Main Duties

Lead by example, you are the Team Leader and set the standards your team will follow.
Setting clear achievable weekly and daily goals and monitoring these goals.
Management of the team members performance and competence
Ensuring the work area and practices are completed safely in line with Risk Assessments and other guidance including the resolution of any Red Cards raised.
Ensuring good communication with team members so they are aware of plans, expectations, safety and quality updates, performance feedback and toolbox talks.
Ensuring staff are trained and competent to complete tasks allocated and supporting and driving required staff development in line with Competency Matrix.
Ensuring staff are aware and following the correct Work Instructions and drawings to complete their work and raising Yellow Cards to capture any required changes.
Ensuring staff have the right equipment and tooling to complete their job which is safe and calibrated for use.
Supporting Continuous Improvement of the work cell through creation and delivery of Gold Cards.
Planning and execution of resources in the work cell to deliver the Production Plan and customer promises.
Recording and monitoring of the team members performance and competence

Requirements

Proven work experience as a Team Leader or Supervisor within a manufacturing environment
In depth knowledge of performance metrics
Good PC Skills, including Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint.
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Organisational and time-management skills
Technical background of Electrical / Mechanical assembly operations (Desirable)
NVQ or similar in Team Leading/ Engineering (Desirable)
