Job Description

Summary We have an exciting opportunity for two Project Managers to join our consultancy team to lead a portfolio of innovative visitor and commercial growth projects. Were looking for project managers with a creative flair, an understanding of the visitor andcommercial environment and experience of managing projects to grow income and support financial sustainability. You will inspire and work collaboratively with teams to generate ideas and develop concepts for visitor and commercial growth.What we doThe National Trust looks after places and spaces so people and nature can thrive. In Northern Ireland we are supported by over 100,000 members andlook after 22% of NIs coastline, 46 sq. miles of countryside and historic homes. We welcome over 3 millionvisitors annually and provide unique places to stay. Our visitor and commercial business is critical to enabling us to look after and provide access to the places in our care. Thats why we work hard to create an inclusive culture where everyone feels a sense of belonging.Your contractual location will be Rowallane Garden, Saintfield, however there will be an opportunity to explore and agree hybrid working arrangements which strike the right balance for you and the Trust. The role will also involve travel to properties orregional hubs to meet with stakeholders and to carry out work.What youll be doing In this role you will work on a range of projects across different places. You will be responsible for:

  • Identifying opportunities for visitor and commercial growth bespoke to specific sites
  • Generating ideas for re-imagining and re-purposing spaces to support financial sustainability
  • Developing and delivering priority projects in the Regional Project Pipeline
  • Accelerating business case and feasibility assessments for future investment
  • Working with finance and fundraising colleagues to secure essential funding
  • Acting as a link and working in partnership with property and consultancy colleagues, external partner and contractor organisations.
Who were looking for Youll be highly skilled and practiced in project management. Innovative and creative thinking will be key, together with the ability to interpret data to create and communicate compelling and pragmatic solutions. Above all, you will becommitted to our conservation agenda and achieving our organisational ambitions. In particular, the successful candidates will need to evidence:
  • Experience of working at pace on complex projects in a multi-disciplinary environment
  • Very good understanding and practical experience of project management
  • Experience of analysing business opportunities, preferably in the visitor/commercial environment
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to prepare and present quality project documentation and business cases
  • Ability to identify opportunities, build support and drive improvement
  • Ability to build strong relationships, with the diplomacy skills to challenge the status quo and influence change
  • Ability to flourish in a complex and collaborative working environment
