Job Description

New Year, New Job! We are recruiting Full & Part-Time Home Care Companions & Befrienders in Aylsham and surrounding areas of Norfolk. This job involves visiting vulnerable adults in the community, so you must hold a full driving licence and access a reliable vehicle. Becoming a Home Care Companion is different than any other Care Assistant job. Our CAREGivers go the extra mile for our clients, and nothing is too much trouble. You will visit the same clients regularly, so you know what each client wants/likes. Could youhelp to support someone like MaryEdith is 93 years old, and she has lived alone since her husband Jack died ten years ago. Edith. has dementia and sometimes feels frightened, confused, and lonely. Her son Robert lives in America, and he cant visit as much as they would like to.Edith needs support with various daily tasks for an hour or so a few times a week. Are you someone who can help Edith get out of bed in the morning, have a bath, and get dressed Edith can bathe herself, but she needs some support to undress and get intothe bath. She may also need reassurance that you are not too far away if she struggles to get out of the bath. Edith will also need some help to dry her back, rub moisturising cream into her legs, help her get dressed, and brush her hair. (This is all lightpersonal care).It would be lovely if you could make her a cup of tea and some breakfast, get her medication ready and remind her to take it; she might also need you to run the vacuum cleaner around, do a little dusting or put her laundry into the washing machine.Edith understands that you cant stay all day with her because you have other people to visit. However, she will look forward to your next visit because of the warmth and empathy you have shown to her.*Edith is an example of a client & not who were hiring for*Pay Rates, Benefits & Hours

  • £11.50 (rising to £12.50 in Jan 2022)-£17.25 per hour + holiday pay.
  • Paid Travel and waiting time.
  • Holiday pay.
  • £300.00 joining bonus.

  • We need people who can commit to regular hours that include either early morning, early evenings, and a few hours on alternate weekends.
  • You will have your own set of clients so you can build up a relationship with your client.
  • Minimum of 1-hour visits so you will never feel rushed.
  • £250 Refer a friend scheme.

To become a Home Care Companion & Befriender, you must be:
  • An excellent timekeeper who is organised and reliable.
  • Compassionate.
  • Able to treat clients with dignity and respect always.
  • A good listener, communicate clearly, and build relationships with clients and their families in a polite and friendly manner.
  • Able to adapt to change quickly and make a decision at short notice.
  • A Smartphone is required because you will need access to an App for logging in and out visits.
