Pharmaceutical Section ManagerRuncornUp to £45,000In this busy Pharmaceutical Section Manager role, you will be 100% site based, reporting in to the Head of Analytical Chemistry and will oversee the running of the laboratories and functions including finished products and stability testing.The primary duties of the Pharmaceutical Section Manager include:• Manage the day to day running of the laboratory, as well as a team of 4-5 Analytical Chemists and a Section Leader.• Work closely with other departments managing expectations and transfers of internal and external projects• Ensure appropriate systems are in place to facilitate and document continuous improvement within the Analytical laboratory and associated functions.• Organise recruitment, training and allocation of laboratory staff to deliver high quality analysis and reporting to meet site development timelines.• Ensure that the testing of New Product introduction or stability programmes are conducted in an effective and efficient manner to support development manufacturing timelines and appropriate processes are in place for the investigation, reporting and escalationof out of specification results in a timely manner.• Manage laboratory technical / technology transfers.• Provide technical support and guidance to operational teams during investigations.Specific requirements for the Pharmaceutical Section Manager include:• BSc equivalent or higher in a science based subject• Experience within a highly regulated sector pharmaceuticals or medical devices• Line management experience and development of staff• Good communicator, to build effective relationships with other departments• Experience of working using analytical instrumentation such as HPLC• Experience of managing stability programs, as well as stakeholder management within a contract manufacturing organisation, internally and externally.• Experience of engagement with regulatory authorities, third party auditors, scientific/technical bodies in the reporting, demonstration and explanation of Analytical laboratory testing activities.To apply, you will require previous line management experience of working in an Analytical Chemistry role, preferably within the Pharmaceutical industry, in a GMP accredited laboratory.
