Job Description

Unipart Logistics (UL) has secured a contract to run the new, custom-built Jaguar Land Rover Global Parts Logistics Centre at Appleby Magna in Leicestershire. The operation will be housed at Jaguar Land Rovers new Mercia campus, one of the largest UKwarehouse developments for a single customer. With a multimillion-pound major facility investment program already underway, we would like you to join us now to be part of the core implementation team and to transition to site leadership roles in the businessas usual structure. This is a great opportunity to be a major part of the successful implementation of what is said to be the largest automotive logistics project in the UK.Initially based in Coventry, this role will be responsible for supporting and delivering the design of material handling processes within the Warehouse Design project. This includes ensuring all processes are captured, documented (in SOP format) and are alignedto our efficiency and quality targets. You will work alongside the OpEx Manager in supporting a team of Process Leaders to ensure they have the required inputs to document these processes. Once the role has transitioned from project start-up to business asusual, you will move to the Appleby Magna facility and will work closely with operational teams in embedding Operational Excellence and Digital technologies consistently.You will help to coordinate and deliver process improvement projects aligned to agreed business priorities.The primary focus of this role will be to support the OpEx Manager in deploying Operational Excellence and Digital technologies into UL operations delivering value to the business and positive outcomes measured through Safety, Quality, Cost and Delivery indicators.Process Improvement Coordinator Responsibilities: Leading and delivering continuous improvement activities to improve operational performance and enhance colleague capability in the use of Unipart Way tools and techniques Delivering tangible and validated financial savings through OpEx and Digital delivery Using OpEx and UL Digital tools to deliver Right First Time principles into operations Learning, sharing and adopting of best practice within the Logistics division and wider business Supporting the delivery of the site Unipart Way Plan alongside the OpEx Manager and operational owners Working with site leaders in applying the Group OpEx and Digital standards consistently and as measured through the Groups internal auditing process Acting as mentor and coach for peers and high potential colleagues, ensuring there is a strong pipeline of succession Supporting and coaching Team Leaders and Operational Managers with their personal development accreditation programmes, particularly OpEx elements where applicableProcess Improvement Coordinator Requirements: Lean Practitioner - working experience of lean / Continuous Improvement techniques Proven logical thinker with skills in understanding and interpreting dataanalytical Good understanding of problem-solving tools (8Ds, 5Ys, fishbone etc) Good MS Excel Skills (incl. PivotTables & VLookups) Ability to cope with the demands of a fast-moving and ever-changing set of priorities Strong team playerability to work collaboratively Target / results driven - understanding of KPIs & SLAs Strong planning, organising and time management skills Assertive and possesses an ability to influence Confidence and competence in dealing with multiple stakeholders across a range of management levels Shows an attention to detail with a right first time attitudeAbout Unipart:Unipart Group is a leading UK manufacturer, full-service logistics provider, and consultant in operational excellence.
