Job Description

As an Junior Merchandiser - Own Brand you will Manage your own department and play a key role in trading and driving profit and margin. Plan product ranges in conjunction with the Buying team and deliver a commercially.Client DetailsA multi-channel retailer in the Altrincham area. Starting out as a sports kit business they have expanded over the last 40 years into both ladies and mens, more so recently into Homeware.Description

  • Manage your own department and play a key role in trading and driving profit and margin.
  • Plan product ranges in conjunction with the Buying team and deliver a commercially viable range across both Home Shopping and Retail divisions.
  • Analyse sales and prepare sales forecasts and figures for new ranges.
  • Optimise the sales and profitability of designated product areas.
  • Liaise with suppliers and distributors.
  • Ensure all buys are placed and stock arrives as planned.
  • Identify production and supply difficulties and deal with any problems or delays as they arise.
  • Control stock levels based on forecasts for the season.
  • Monitor slow sellers, and take action to reduce prices or set promotions as necessary.
    • Profile
  • Have a minimum of 3 years previous merchandising experience in a Head Office environment.
  • Currently be at Assistant level or higher, looking for the next step up and to manage their own area if the former.
  • Possess strong numeracy and literacy skills with proven experience of using MS Office computer packages, particularly Excel.
  • Show excellent analytical skills and a highly organised approach to work.
  • Be able to communicate effectively, both written and verbal.
