Job Description

Import OperatorMultimodal Altrincham, Manchester£30,000 - £35,000 (plus bonus)MondayFriday, 08:3017:00 Im currently recruiting for multi modal import operator to join an extremely exciting new freight forwarding company based in Altrincham. They are seeking an import operator to support the current ocean and air import operation as the business goes fromstrength to strength.Whats on Offer;

The Candidate;
  • Previous Freight forwarding experience is essential
  • Experience of ocean & air imports freight is highly desirable
  • Up to date knowledge of import regulations
  • Have dealt with end-end logistical processes
  • Can prepare customs instructions for customs agents
  • Experience of working within a fast paced shipping or logistics office
  • Must be ambitious, outstanding work ethic and a desire to progress
  • Can do attitude taking responsibility
  • Genuinely passionate in finding solutions for clients
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage workloads
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to clearly communicate
  • Confident in decision making and negotiating
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Must be able to work within a forward-thinking team
Duties and Responsibilities;
  • Quote overseas agents and in house customers
  • Obtain and negotiate rates from overseas suppliers
  • Communicate clearly with customers throughout the entire process
  • Arrange UK haulage with shipping lines and merchant hauliers
  • Create new bookings and updating all information on system
  • Invoicing customers in a timely manner
  • Preparing customs documentation for clearing agents
  • Arranging airline collections and deliveries
