Job Description

Join us as a Performance, Insights & Efficiency Analyst

  • Youll be providing financial insight and decision support through providing commercial and financial MI, ensuring compliance with the banks governance framework

  • Were offering this role for a period of 12 months
  • Salary range of £36,126 - £51,000 if based in Edinburgh, £47,643 - £67,260 if based in Jersey or Guernsey, or £46,538 - £65,700 if based in London, depending on experience.
What youll doAs a Performance, Insights & Efficiency Analyst, youll be helping to provide timely, reliable and insightful financial support that will drive senior and executive financial and commercial discussion. Youll be working with business partners to provide informationto all areas of RBS International Finance, including an appropriate level of analytics and interpretation to enable informed decision making, as well as commercial insight to provide a detailed understanding of financial performance. As well as this, youll be delivering reporting such as financials, hierarchy, budgeting and forecasting and providing commentary explaining data movements and the outlook for future periods. Day-to-day, youll be:
  • Reviewing and interpreting financial results, identifying any patterns and trends in the communication of key messages and insights
  • Monitoring and challenging divisional business results to provide insightful, consolidated communications and presentations for executive management
  • Liaising with divisional business partners and teams, proactively identifying financial performance issues and escalating to senior management where necessary
  • Providing financial analysis and support to executive management, to facilitate the review of business performance and identify strategic action plans to address performance gaps
  • Ensuring consistency in design, approach and principles to reporting and optimisation of the existing reporting processes, and creating and maintaining process documentation
  • Developing and maintaining professional effective relationships with customers, stakeholders and employees at all levels
The skills youll needWere looking for a recently qualified or partly qualified accountant, with good post-qualification experience. Along with financial management skills and techniques to be able to deal with complex business situations efficiently, youll need experience ofpreparing financial analysis. Youll also demonstrate:
  • A background of working to tight deadlines and managing key finance deliverables
  • Excellent numeric and analytical skills
  • An understanding of, and the ability to identify key business and financial performance issues
  • Good computer literacy with a high level of PowerPoint and Excel skills
  • Strong communication and relationship management skills, with the ability to clearly articulate issues to executive management
