Job Description

Job DescriptionResponsibilities

  • Provide close team and client management support to ensure an excellent quality of service, consistency and support the Business organic growth objectives
  • Actively participate in, lead and manage all aspects and activities relating to the development of IQ-EQ
  • Pro-actively contribute to initiatives to improve processes to drive operational excellence
  • Ensure that risk management processes are embedded in the culture, operations and systems used by all employees, driving and exemplifying adherence to agreed policies, procedures and applicable regulation
Head of AMLSP, Jersey:
  • Act as a role model to support a strong risk and compliance culture within the Jersey Cluster
  • Act as a role model to support the implementation of a culture which supports the IQ-EQ Values and ensure engagement of all IQ-EQ staff to support the delivery of excellent client service, operational effectiveness and efficiencies
Money Laundering Compliance Officer (MLCO) &Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO):
  • Act as the principle point of contact for the Jersey Financial Services Commission () on client entities
  • Devise and deliver risk based monitoring programmes to monitor activities of the client structures ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory obligation (including but not limited to consistent adherence to internal policies and procedures).
  • Assess, and recommend amendments to, internal systems and controls as well as policies, and procedures to facilitate compliance with the regulatory framework; and where appropriate, promptly instigating action to remedy any deficiencies in the compliancearrangement
  • Maintain up to date regulatory knowledge and ensure that the business remains compliant through the provision of advice and guidance on legal and regulatory changes as well as best practice
  • Act as the principal point of contact for regulatory authorities and the Joint Financial Crimes Unit (JFCU) in relation to ML/TF/PF and maintain a record of requests for information from law enforcement authorities relating to ISARs and SARs
  • Receive and consider internal suspicious activity reports (ISARs) in accordance with the requirements of the Money Laundering (Jersey) Order 2008 and internal reporting requirements and to make such disclosures to the Joint Financial Crimes Unit (JFCU)as are appropriate
  • Manage, support and monitor the performance of any Deputy MLRO, ensuring that SARs are handled in an appropriate and consistent manner
  • Report directly to the Board on matters relating to the MLRO function, ISARs and SARs
General Tasks:
  • Actively lead and perform in line with both local and Group requirements and initiatives
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, clients regulatory bodies and other professional intermediaries and contacts to ensure that IQ-EQ staff understand and are able to respond appropriately to developments as they arise
  • Where appropriate, identify and develop talent within the Risk and Compliance Function, working with senior management to ensure succession plans are in place to develop capability for immediate business needs and future growth needs, identifying and supportingthe elimination of the risks of key man dependencies, whilst supporting the motivation and mobilisation of top talent across the Group for immediate and future roles
  • Pro-actively manage own development, encompassing both technical and leadership requirements to a level appropriate to role that supports the IQ-EQ Values
  • Motivate all IQ-EQ staff and ensure they are fully aware of the clients strategic objectives and have in place their own personal objectives which are aligned to ensure successful achievement and delivery of goals
  • Implement plans that integrate new acquisitions into the team, ensuring a consistent standard of client servicing and operational processes, risk, compliance and cost management are embedded
  • Ensure relevant client entities are in compliance with applicable laws, service standards, company policies and procedures and agreed operational and control processes
  • Ensure that risk management processes are embedded in the culture, operations and systems used by all IQ-EQ staff members in the function, driving and exemplifying adherence to agreed policies, procedures and applicable regulation.
Qualifications
  • Extensive knowledge and experience of offshore financial services and underlying product and service rationales, technologies and regulatory environments
  • Membership of relevant Financial Institute
  • Evidence of Continued Professional Development
  • Extensive experience within the offshore finance Industry, and specifically in compliance and risk
  • Awareness and understanding of cross jurisdictional cultural differences
  • Corporate Governance experience and an understanding and experience of risk mitigation
  • Evidence of commitment to high standard of customer service based on understanding needs and delivering solutions
  • Experience of working closely with Regulators
