Job Description

We are a non-profit organisation working with people to support their health and wellbeing. Established for over 30 years, we have provided services alongside a variety of statutory and voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) colleagues in Surreyand its borders. We are recruiting for a Specialist Outreach Support Worker to work within the Cuckooing and Vulnerable Adults team. Salary: £26 - 27k per annum, pro rata, dependent on experienceHours: 21 hours per weekDuration: 1 year contractCompany Benefits: 26 days annual leave pro rata (rising with service) + bank holidays + 1 extra days leave on your birthday, Pension, Access to Simply Health, Blended working, Employee discount programmeLocation - Rushmoor, Hampshire. Based in Aldershot and or Yateley Police Station. Mileage is paid for your travelThe Cuckooing project works with individuals who have had or are vulnerable to have their homes taken over by others and used to facilitate exploitation.With a holistic approach you will be working with vulnerable adults in the community, providing them with a brief and intense intervention. You may work within a clients home or place of safety, to ensure you provide support and advice and work with clientsto understand what support services they need in their journey for the long term and to help build their resilience and prevent them from being cuckooed in the future. You will use client centred skills to assess, support and refer clients onwards whilst supportingwith immediate practical needs.You will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with other agencies, including the Police, Social Workers, Housing departments etc to ensure risks are reduced. This role is ideally suited to someone who is curious about safeguarding, likes to work oneto one and can balance outreach visits with administrative tasks.This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check.
