Job Description

Job Role: Maintenance EngineerLocation: CoventrySalary: £36,000Hours: 36 hour working week,Monday to Thursday 3pm - MidnightMetalis is working in partnership with a multi-million pound manufacturing business who are well established in their field to recruit for a skilled Maintenance Engineer.Job Duties:

  • Carry out routine maintenance of all machinery, processes, equipment and services.
  • Assess and recommend maintenance tasks for new and improved equipment and services on site where required.
  • Help assess the quality of maintenance tasks carried out by production teams.
  • Attend breakdowns and make necessary repairs in a safe and timely manner.
  • Carry out improvements to machinery, processes, equipment and services based on information supplied from maintenance, engineering and production supervisors.
  • Fabricate and assemble machinery and equipment as required
  • Train production operators in standard routine tasks as agreed with maintenance, engineering and production supervisors.
Job Requirements:
  • Conversant with mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Understands and employs correct isolation techniques and aware of safety obligations.
  • Logical problem solving ability.
  • Knowledge of machine construction techniques.
  • Proven communication and diplomacy skills.
  • IT literate and competent in the use of MS Office applications.
  • Able to use CAD.
  • Able to read engineering drawings and schematic diagrams.
  • Well organised and methodical.
  • Able to plan work to balance conflicting priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong administration skills.
  • Able to keep cool in a crisis.
  • Reliable attendance and good timekeeping.
  • Flexible and able to respond to occasional unusual working hours and weekends.
  • Use Milling and turning to produce spare parts as requested.
  • Strong fabrication skills.
