Job Description

Senior Scientific Officer | Scientific Project Manager | Veterinary MedicinesWe are looking for a Senior Scientific Officer on a temporary basis until March 2021. This role supports the team in the collection, analysis and publication of antibiotic sales and usage data and to collaborate with a wide variety of stakeholders, both nationally and internally, to help inspire behaviours that promote antibiotic stewardship.The roleThis is a temporary, full-time position working Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week until March 2021 initially.Your duties and responsibilities:

  • Leading on the collection, validation and analysis of antibiotic sales data
  • Working closely with the team leader to help co-ordinate, develop, validate and improve systems for monitoring antibiotic use
  • Helping with the publication and interpretation of antibiotic sales and usage data in the annual report and, as required, submit these data to other bodies
  • Providing data, insights and technical advice for internal and external stakeholders on issues relating to antibiotic sales, use and stewardship.
  • Representing the AMR team at national and international meetings, conferences and events, including carrying out presentations where required
  • Reviewing and commenting on relevant scientific documents, reports, papers or abstracts for publication for funded research projects
  • Monitoring on-going research and articles relevant to the work area, and share findings with the team and, where appropriate, external stakeholders
  • What you need to succeed:Only applications with a Science-based degree will be considered, preferably within Veterinary Science or other related fields. For this role you must also have excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel and can manipulate data within it.
