This role is responsible for driving and maintainingAccounting Policy across EMEA.Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • They will be primarily involved in producing timely and accurate consolidated group reports, financial accounting, financial compliance, and intercompany accounting for the EMEA organisation and supporting external and internal audit procedures.
  • Operate IFRS16 lease accounting centrally for entire EMEA region,
  • This role will be influential in process design and driving improved working practices, including active participation and transition from Oracle HFM reporting tool to SAP BPC reporting tool
  • Accommodate regular ad-hoc requests requiring investigation and problem solving for information, and the ability to make recommendations and decisions.
  • Oversee and submit intercompany financial accounting within EMEA HQ Finance.
  • Manage intercompany aspects of month-end close process, overseeing relevant activities of the wider Finance team.
  • Conduct timely and accurate financial accounting activities, including responsibility for submission of EMEA HQ results for group consolidation.
  • Responsible for ongoing work to standardise and improve the intercompany recharge and reconciliation processes.
  • Understand and seek improvements to the monthly consolidation and reporting process.
  • Coordination of control activity to ensure JSOX compliance.
  • Devise initiatives to increase process standardisation & efficiency.
Essential Knowledge & Experience:
  • Strong experience in with financial consolidation and intercompany elimination processes
  • Knowledge of IFRS, UK GAAP, Dutch GAAP would be bonus, and support of group accounting policy
  • Strong finance analyst skills and the relevant tools (Hyperion HFM, BPC, SAP)
  • Track-record of leading planning process with excellent organisational and collaboration skills
  • Excellent time management & organisational skills
  • Proven ability to influence, (appropriately) challenge and engage diverse senior stakeholders
  • Career history demonstrates progression, continuity and development of broad skills in the Accounting field. Proven compliance expertise; to understand and comply with industry laws and relevant regulations.
  • Must be able to apply judgement, problem solve and make decisions under pressure.
  • Pharma sector experience is a plus
  • Experience of the preparation of statutory accounts, financial variance analysis
  • Experience of internal controls & improvement and liaison with auditors & professional advisors
  • Qualified out of practice and qualified CIMA, ACA, ACCA.
  • Fluent in written and verbal business English

  • Confidence and assertiveness to deal with all kinds of people at varying levels of seniority.
  • Good listening skills to understand and interpret external & internal information needs.
  • Ability to handle multiple requests/demands, juggle priorities and handle large volumes of data and information.
  • High attention to detail to ensure accurate high quality of work.
