Job Description

Due to considerable growth and an internal promotion in their Freight sector my client is looking for a driven and eager individual to manage their freight shipment desk including imports, exports and shipping via sea, air, and road. You will primarily be based from home after an initial training period but required to regularly meet at the company’s Surrey base. Duties will include:

  • Managing customers’ global freight requirements.
  • Handling the booking process from start to finish, whilst maintaining constant communication with the customer and supplier/s regarding shipment progress.
  • Generating and reviewing shipping documentation
  • Delivering exceptional customer service, and always looking to go the extra mile
  • Various administrative duties, including accurate recording of billing details for accounts
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers and their supplier network
  • Identifying and approaching any upselling opportunities
  • Maintaining regular communication with management to ensure that department targets are being met.
  • Applicants are likely to be degree or A’level educated with a problem-solving mindset and a positive, solution-based approach to the task at hand. You must be able to use initiative to quickly assess and create effective resolutions in time critical situations and be adaptable and flexible to support the wider team and. Strong communication skills and attention to detail are key to this role along with the ability to handle difficult conversations where shipments haven’t gone to planThis is a great opportunity for a motivated and eager candidate to join a dynamic company at the early stages of its growth.
