Job Description

REED are working alongside a returning client who are looking to add an Electronics Design Engineer to their team on as permanent basis. You will be based in the Blackburn area of Aberdeen.They require candidates who can create electronic hardware from initial concept through to final development and testing stage. This is a great opportunity to work within a small team and have a hands-on approach to developing equipment.Salary: £45K - £65K DOEHours: MondayFriday 8.30am4.30pmTypical Duties

Design of analogue and digital electronic circuits for surface and high reliability downhole tools
Circuit analysis, simulation, schematic capture and PCB design
Development of firmware, software, and hardware for testing and production
Generate engineering documentation and reports
Design, develop, test, and maintain firmware for embedded microcontrollers
Provide electronic design and engineering sustaining support for all product line
Develop test processes for each PCB to enable consistent assessment prior to assembly
Develop test processes for the production line assembly to ensure consistent tool build quality and performance
Support manufacturing and maintenance activities with regards to product reliability and performance
Develop product support documentation such as test procedures, specifications and failure analysis protocols

Candidate Requirements

Electronics Engineering qualified to a degree level
A minimum of 5 years of experience in electronics design
Sound knowledge of amplifiers, analogue electronics and filters
Analogue and digital skills and ability to design mixed PCB up to 8 layers
Experience of embedded microcontrollers, preferably ARM Cortex
Experience with developing high temperature downhole equipment
