Central South Consortium – Joint Education ServiceACHIEVING EXCELLENCE TOGETHERBuilding capacity through the Central South Wales ChallengeStrategic Adviser for Professional LearningFull time or Part time1-year Secondment or temporary contract to commence as soon as possible.Soulbury 21 – 24 + 3 SPA points (Max secondment £66,588)The Central South Consortium, comprising the five Local Authorities of Bridgend, Cardiff, Merthyr Tydfil, Rhondda Cynon Taf, and Vale of Glamorgan, is working in partnership to deliver ambitious arrangements for school improvement through the Central South Wales Challenge. Collectively with our schools, we are determined that all children and young people, in every school, will experience the best possible conditions in which to realise their potential and that we close the gap between the most disadvantaged pupils and their peers. The Central South Consortium wish to continue to build capacity that enables school leaders to play a vital part in realising the Curriculum for Wales. Sector-led school-to-school support plays a crucial role in building capacity in the system as a whole. This will involve significant cultural change in all parts of the system in order to develop the capacity, confidence and behaviours in all schools. We are offering a secondment / temporary opportunity on a full-time, or part-time basis to join the team as Strategic Adviser for Professional Learning to develop the strategic oversight of professional learning strategies in support of education reform as part of the Central South Wales Challenge Model. This postholder will be required to:• Work across the region as part of the CSC school improvement team to promote and support education reform• Lead the strategic development of the service and to provide direction in relation to the development of a regional e-learning strategy that aligns with the National Approach for Professional Learning • Lead the development of a regional strategy for wider skills• Support the development of an integrated regional strategy for cross-curricular skills• Support the development, facilitation and effective engagement of schools in all aspects of the Curriculum for Wales professional learning programme• Support the development of the regional research and inquiry strategy• Design, develop and deliver professional learning (in line with the National Approach for Professional Learning), working with all levels of school staff.
