Job Description

Requirement for a versatile Buyer to work on purchasing tasks and long-term supply chain improvement projects for a global manufacturer.Ford & Stanley – The Rail Recruitment Experts are recruiting a Buyer for an international manufacturer of electrical products and solutions.The OpportunityJoining the business at a time of growth through successfully winning new, long-term contracts, this role will operate with support but also a large degree of autonomy and trust to complete their work. This work will include completing day-to-day purchasingtasks to short turnaround times as well as working on long-term supply chain improvements directives.Location (s):AbercynonRole and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for maintaining assigned supplier relations by selecting suppliers and negotiating prices for material and/or services required
  • Analyse, negotiate and report supplier price changes
  • Conduct periodic commodity surveys to obtain price comparisons; evaluate market trends to develop new services and create cost savings
  • Identify potential problem areas and recommend changes

  • Buyer/Purchasing experience
  • Experience using MRP systems
