Job Description

THIS POST IS FIXED TERM/SECONDMENT UNTIL 30TH NOVEMBER 2021 DUE TO MEET THE NEEDS OF THE SERVICE .IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN APPLYING FOR THE SECONDMENT POSITION, YOU MUST OBTAIN PERMISSION FROM YOUR CURRENT LINE MANAGER PRIOR TO APPLYING FOR THIS POST. As part of the UHB’s response to COVID-19 and the wider Welsh Government’s Track, Trace the Protect project. An exciting secondment or fixed term (until end November 2021) opportunity has arisen for band 2 Healthcare Support Workers to join our Population Testing team. This team operates the site based testing services, along with community and mobile testing units.The core role is swabbing patient at drive through testing units along with those in community and primary care settings, along with maintaining a good standard of cleanliness in the testing units and regular communication with members of the public. Any specific training required for the role will be provided.You will be part of a wider dedicated team and supported by a Senior Nurse, Band 7 Testing Unit Clinical Manager, Registered Nurses and a large administrative team.The main UHB Testing Units are situated in:

  • Pencoed
  • Royal Glamorgan Hospital
  • Kier Hardie Health Park
  • There is also a need to provide swabbing in the community
