THIS POST IS FIXED TERM/SECONDMENT UNTIL 30/11/21 DUE TO MEET THE NEEDS OF THE SERVICE. As part of the UHB’s response to COVID-19 and the wider Welsh Government’s Track, Trace the Protect project. An exciting secondment or fixed term (until end November 2021) opportunity has arisen for Band 3 HCSW to work in our communities within our Serology, antibody testing and Population Testing UnitsWorking under the supervision and direction of a registered nurse, the post holder will have the necessary dexterity to carry out a range of clinical procedures e.g. throat and/or nasal swabbing for COVID-19, point of care testing for COVID – 19 renewal of dressings, venepuncture and the sending of specimens, recording of vital signs administration of medications, under the direction of a registered clinician.Any specific training required for the role will be provided.The post holder will be required to undertake a range of clinical and clerical activities as delegated by the nursing team. These activities will be carried out in a variety of settings which may include: patients’ homes, clinic settings, Residential and Nursing Homes.You will be part of a wider dedicated team and supported by a Senior Nurse, Band 7 Testing Unit Clinical Manager, Registered Nurses and a large administrative team.If you are an experienced Band 2 HCSW with excellent communication skills, and would like an opportunity to be part of a National project, supporting your community and have the ability to travel to all UHB sites then we would love to hear from you.The main UHB Testing Units are situated in:
