Job Title: Sustainability ManagerSalary: £45,000 - £60,000 D.O.E + packageLocation: YorkshireReference: HB8014Responsibilities include but are not limited to:* Deliver a program of sustainable animal agriculture, identifying a risk matrix of the species / countries with the lowest level of animal welfare and recommending implementation of relevant welfare schemes, and implementing successfully.* Undertake visits to the main procurement Countries to undertake reviews of farming practices to support the creating of the risk matrix, resolving non-compliance issues.* Delivery of business requirements for sustainably sourced animal feed, ensuring compliance throughout the supply chain, creating awareness, and agreeing action plans with suppliers that are non-compliant. * Engage with relevant stakeholders to understand alternatives to soy-based animal feedstocks, trial and implement improvements.* Identify nature related projects that will have the biggest impact on our footprint (CO2e reduction). This should be wide ranging looking at all natural resources in relation to food production.* Create a Risk Matrix for Carbon and Nature related issues for the major Commodities / Countries. Ensure this is easily understood and useable by the procurement teams, allowing them to make informed sustainable procurement decisions. Track and report. Resolvenon-compliance and escalate as necessary.* Ensure Carbon Reporting is implemented within the supply chain. Ensure suppliers report within agreed timescales for business commitments. Review and recommend the most appropriate reporting tools for each area.* Report on progress on leading commodities sustainably sourced commitment.* Create and deliver ongoing Sustainability awareness, ensuring regular business updates to the colleague base.* Stay informed and ahead of the curve by horizon scanning and communicating exposure to regulatory changes covering sustainability.* Ensure the business meets all the legal compliance requirements set out by the UK Govt (across natural capitals or similar).* Represent the business at relevant key industry events covering both Carbon and Nature.
