An outstanding opportunity has arisen due to join a commercially minded public sector organisation as aDesign Engineer.This role will suit an electrical engineer who is looking to develop and progress in an environment where your efforts and talent are recognised. The role is a hybrid role with the opportunity to work from home part of the week.The Design Engineer will be responsible for the design, specification , programme and project management of building services installations for new build, maintenance and/or refurbishment type programmes of work. This may include project lead or workingas part of a larger design teamThe ideal candidate will have experience as an Electrical Design Engineer in property or construction.Responsibilities• Carry out the design and management of all types of building services projects including producing budget estimates, drawings, detailed service specifications, tender documentation and undertaking full contract administration duties on mechanical/electricalled projects.• Develop and implement successful design strategies in accordance with clients brief and professional standards• Where required carry out condition surveys, dilapidation or specific surveys to provide information for stock condition/asset management system and/or to aid asset appraisal.• Lead on resolving complex queries, issues arising from mechanical/electrical engineering , ensuring a seamless service as well as provision of professional advice, guidance and information.• Prepare technical/feasibility reports and valuations, advising on options and recommendations in an advisory capacity.• Promote and manage the competitive, efficient and effective delivery of mechanical/electrical services installations and energy management services to clients.• Promote the use of renewable technologies and positively contribute to achieving the corporate carbon reduction targets in line with SEAP• Schedule and coordinate resources, liaising with colleagues, project managers, clients as required.• Act as a single point of contact on specific engineering issues across a range of clients.• Promote and manage the competitive , efficient and effective delivery of mechanical/electrical services installations and energy management services to clientsRelevant Experience• Extensive and proven experience at a Senior Engineer level in a relevant service environment.• Experience of successfully project managing alteration and refurbishment projects from inception through to final account.• Experience of surveying building services for all types of buildings• Familiar with relevant construction, health and safety legislation and risks and hazards associated with Asbestos• Significant experience of planning, prioritising, organising and managing workloads.• Experience in the use of IT and Microsoft Packages including relevant building services design tools , Hevacomp/ Autodesk /Relux/ Dialux (ideal)Salary and BenefitsHybrid Working - 2/3 days working from homeSalary £38296 to £41,496 with ongoing pay reviews/rises
