An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic experienced nurse to join the successful Breast Care team at the Royal Glamorgan Hospital as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Breast Care.The role sits within a well established Breast care team which, along with an established multi-disciplinary team, supports patients with primary and metastatic breast cancer.We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and innovative individual who is willing to learn and work within a constantly changing environment and the successful candidate will be expected to deliver clinical excellence within the Breast Care team.The role includes reinforcing and discussing information provided to patients by the surgeon or other breast cancer specialists regarding Surgery and treatment options, Chemotherapy, Radiotherapy and Endocrine Therapy and side effects, family history and genetics, breast reconstruction and metastatic disease,The successful candidate will provide patients with access to further information as required offering both practical and emotional support to patients and their loved ones, help patients to choose and understand the treatments they have been offered, prosthetic fitting, reviewing patients along with the multidisciplinary team before and after surgery on the ward and being available to discuss any problems or concerns pre and post surgery.This is a very opportunity for an experienced registered nurse to enhance their skills training and development within a new role.The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.Closing date: 1st March 2021For further details / informal visits contact:Maria Jones, Advanced Nurse Practitioner Breast Care Teammaria.a.jones@wales.nhs.uk
